The College of New Jersey Department of Computer Science aims to become one of the leading undergraduate research programs. Through a comprehensive learning environment, perseverance in developing a community of researchers, and an extensive curriculum, our department is dedicated to enhancing our world’s knowledge of Computer Science and its applications.
The department strives to educate and assist each student personally through their undergraduate years. Each course offered is always taught by faculty members and has a class size average of less than 30 students. Faculty members also act as academic advisors, research mentors, and coordinators of Computer Science related extra-curricular activities.
The practical experience is an essential component of the Computer Science Program. Undergraduate students are required to participate in at least one of many mentor research projects offered; therefore allowing students to work one-on-one with a faculty member and gain experience in solving real-world problems. Ongoing faculty projects range from gaming theory to website development and multimedia design.
Our undergraduate Computer Science program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), a professional accrediting organization.
